Large product catalogs require more than product data — they require a well-defined publication structure.
The new Catalog Structure Builder, available in InBetween's Publication Wizard, introduces structured catalog planning directly into the publishing workflow. Before layout generation begins, users can define the complete catalog hierarchy, including chapters, product groups, accessories, separators, and other structural elements.
Catalog structures can be saved as reusable templates and applied across future editions, ensuring consistency while eliminating repetitive manual setup. External business information, distributor-specific data, or additional classification structures can easily be incorporated alongside product information from the PIM.
This creates a predictable, scalable workflow for complex catalog production and significantly reduces configuration effort for recurring publications.

03 · Local InDesign Generation & Updates
Generate and update InDesign documents directly from Publisher Pro
Since InBetween 6.2, local InDesign generation has been available in Publication Wizard. With InBetween 6.3, this feature is now also available in Publisher Pro.
Users can generate publications using their locally installed Adobe InDesign application and update existing InDesign documents directly from the Publisher Pro web client — without requiring an InDesign Server.
Simply select an existing InDesign document, choose which content should be updated — such as prices, product images, or other product information — and let Publisher Pro apply the changes automatically.
This allows even non-design users to keep publications up to date while preserving the original layout and giving design teams full control over template creation.

Is InBetween 6.3 available for existing customers, and how do I upgrade?
InBetween 6.3 is the latest release of the InBetween publishing platform. Existing customers can upgrade as part of their maintenance agreement — contact your InBetween account manager or schedule a call to plan the update for your environment and discuss which of the new capabilities apply to your edition.
Does local InDesign generation require an InDesign Server license?
No. Publisher Pro triggers your locally installed Adobe InDesign desktop application directly from the web client — both for generating new publications and for updating existing InDesign documents. A standard InDesign desktop license is sufficient, which removes InDesign Server infrastructure, its licensing costs, and server queue waiting times from the workflow.
Which data sources can the Catalog Structure Builder combine?
Catalog structures are built primarily on product data from your PIM system, but they are not limited to it. External business information — for example ERP data, distributor-specific assortments, or additional classification hierarchies — can be incorporated into the same structure. This makes it possible to plan publications that reflect commercial logic (markets, target groups, distributor programs) rather than only the PIM data model.
What changed technically in the Akeneo integration?
Two things. First, InBetween now connects to the Akeneo Event Platform, receiving near real-time notifications whenever product data changes — instead of polling or scheduled full imports. Second, data access uses GraphQL, so InBetween queries exactly the attributes it needs. Together this enables delta updates: only changed products are processed, which reduces system load on both sides and shortens the time from data change to updated publication.
How does AI Vision Studio fit into an existing PIM/DAM landscape?
AI Vision Studio works with the product images you already manage in your DAM or PIM. It analyzes the images and generates descriptions, multilingual captions, alternative texts, and SEO-friendly image tags, which are then available to your publishing workflows — so enriched content flows into catalogs, datasheets, and digital channels from one source. Every generated text passes a human review step before publication, keeping editorial control with your team.
Is the Datasheet Automation App part of the InBetween platform or a separate installation?
The Datasheet Automation App is a cloud-based web application — there is nothing to install locally. It connects to your centralized product data and uses predefined templates to generate branded, multilingual PDF datasheets either on demand or on a schedule.
