How the PIM-to-PDF
automation works

Datasheet Automation connects Akeneo PIM with InBetween's cloud-based publishing engine. The workflow is designed to keep product PDFs accurate, consistent, and easy to regenerate.

1. Product data is retrieved

The solution fetches current product information, images, attributes, and product content from Akeneo before PDF generation starts.

2. Templates are applied

The selected predefined layout structures product information into brand-compliant datasheets using customer-specific logo and colors.

3. PDFs are rendered in the cloud

The datasheet is generated as a PDF through a hosted InBetween publishing workflow without local software installation.

4. Assets are stored back

The finished PDF is saved back into Akeneo as a linked product asset so teams can access, share, download, or distribute it directly from the PIM.

Can the templates be customized beyond logo and brand colors?

No. Further individual template customization beyond logo and brand color adjustments is not included in Datasheet Automation. However, the selected layout is built dynamically based on the user's product data and adapts to the available product information. Is coding required to generate product datasheets?

No. The workflow is designed as an out-of-the-box user experience inside Akeneo, so users can generate datasheets without coding, manual exports, or local layout software.

Is Datasheet Automation cloud-based?

Yes. Datasheet Automation is hosted in the InBetween Private Cloud for a cloud-based PDF generation workflow.

Can the solution support multilingual or market-specific datasheets?

Yes. Datasheet Automation can generate multilingual and market-specific datasheets based on the selected Akeneo product data and the chosen template. Market-specific datasheets for different brands are not included in Datasheet Automation; this is possible with an InBetween edition. Please contact our Sales team if this is required.
