Data Integration
for Automated Publishing
at a Premium Lifestyle Brand
Villeroy & Boch, a premium manufacturer in the home and lifestyle sector, manages a large and complex product portfolio across multiple European markets. Their product data includes over 100,000 SKUs, with products appearing across multiple data structures, channels, and languages. This results in millions of product-view combinations, including complex hierarchies, multi-language attributes, and region-specific variations.
Â
To better manage this complexity, Villeroy & Boch has successfully implemented an automated publishing project with InBetween, marking a significant step forward in price list generation. Based on product data from Centric PIM, price lists are now created automatically as InDesign documents, kept consistently up to date, and adapted to different markets and target groups across the sanitary portfolio. This is made possible by Multishoring, who developed the integration layer and connector between Centric PIM and InBetween, ensuring that product data is reliably structured, prepared, and transferred for automated publishing.
Â
The Challenge
Operating in a multi-system environment, product data spans multiple structures and contexts – from product-level data in PIM to view-based structures required for marketing and publishing. Ensuring that this data can be consistently structured and transformed before being delivered to the InBetween DataHub requires a flexible and scalable approach, particularly as product structures, markets, and business requirements continue to evolve.
The Solution
To support this, InBetween partnered with Multishoring to design and build a custom integration service designed to handle complex and evolving product data structures. Instead of relying on rigid, hard-coded logic, Multishoring implemented a configuration-driven mapping approach, allowing users to control how PIM data is transformed and structured before being used in InBetween.
Â
This approach enables the solution to be adapted to different data models and evolving business requirements without requiring redevelopment – by adjusting mapping configuration rather than modifying code. Using a structured and readable configuration, users can define mapping logic for complex product structures, support multi-language data, and adjust how data is prepared for publishing processes – without additional development or deployment.
Â
Additionally, Multishoring implemented a delta processing mode, supported by an internal caching mechanism, allowing product changes to be synchronized in near real-time (typically every 5-15 minutes). The solution handles approximately 10,000 daily product updates, with less than 2% of total publishing time spent on data processing within the Multishoring component.Â
Business Impact:
- Reduced dependency on development teams
Changes in data structures, mappings, or catalog requirements can be handled through configuration, reducing the need for repeated development cycles. - Faster time-to-market
Near real-time synchronization ensures that product updates and changes are reflected quickly in publishing processes. - Scalability across complex data structures
The solution supports large product volumes and complex relationships, enabling consistent handling of data across markets and channels.
Product data from the PIM system is transformed and structured before being automatically delivered to InBetween, enabling consistent and scalable use in publishing processes – without manual exports or ad-hoc data handling.
Â
This creates a powerful foundation for automated, data-driven product publishing at scale: complex product data becomes reliably usable across markets, channels, and formats, while updates are reflected almost instantly. By combining InBetween with Multishoring’s flexible integration approach, Villeroy & Boch has established a future-proof setup that reduces complexity, increases speed, and ensures consistently high-quality outputs – even as data structures and business requirements continue to evolve.
Â
In complex, multi-system environments, product data typically spans multiple sources and structures. Preparing and aligning this data for consistent use in marketing and publishing processes is essential to avoid manual work and ensure scalable, efficient workflows.
Multishoring supports organizations in making their data usable across systems and processes. We specialize in designing and building integrations between systems such as PIM, ERP, and other business platforms, transforming complex data structures into formats that can be reliably used in publishing and product communication.
Our work focuses on connecting systems, structuring data, and aligning it with business needs to ensure it can be reliably used in business processes. We specialize in complex, multi-system environments – working with organizations across industries, including manufacturing, retail, and enterprise sectors – where we design and build integrations that enable marketing operations to manage data flows and mappings without relying on ongoing developer support.
